How do I find the studio?
I work at MYST, located at Vlaanderenstraat 49, Gent.
The ground floor of the building has a coffee bar.
The first floor of the building is where the tattoo studio is located. If you have an appointment, you can just walk right upstairs, where I’ll be waiting for you.
MYST is easily reachable by public transport from both train stations in Gent. If you’re visiting by car you can park at parking Gent Zuid and walk 5 minutes. This way you don’t need to have a stressful drive through the city center.
Can I bring a friend to the appointment?
You’re welcome to bring someone for moral support. We can’t bring them into the booth or working area, though. There’s a cosy waiting area on the first floor where the tattoo shop is, but your companion can also hang out in the coffee bar downstairs.
How much does a tattoo cost?
My starting price is €100,00.
I price my work depending on the project, so I can’t provide a flat rate, but I’m happy to listen to your ideas and give you a price estimate. Please be aware that this is subject to change and depends on factors beyond my control (such as how well you sit during the session, any adaptations to the original design you were quoted for, etc).
If you are bound by a certain budget, we can talk about this too. Please understand depending on your budget this may limit your options.
How can I pay?
I accept cash, and instant bank transfers through your smartphone banking app or payconiq. I don’t accept cards of any kind.
Please make sure you have a viable mode of payment with you when you arrive to the studio.
Payment needs to be made at the end of the session.
Is the studio wheelchair accessible?
Sadly, since the tattoo studio is located on the first floor of a historical mansion it is not accessible for people who use a wheelchair. If you use a wheelchair or are otherwise disabled and can’t use the stairs and you would like to get tattooed by me, please let me know and I will search for a venue where this is possible.
I have other accessibility needs, can your provide a suitable environment for me?
If you have any accessibility needs, please specify them in your e-mail and I will look for a solution!
Since I’m working under a studio and don’t have full control over my environment I can’t always promise I can fully cover accessibility at this time, but I am also always learning and eager to accommodate you as much as possible.
I’m sick but I can sit still and will wear a facemask, can I still come to my appointment?
Please don’t come to your appointment if you are sick.
For yourself, getting tattooed while you’re sick is not a good idea. Your body is already working hard as it is, getting tattooed will only put extra pressure. Getting tattooed while sick may also affect your healing.
A facemask only does so much to stop the spreading of germs and when we spend a large amount of time in close proximity to each other, there is still a risk of infection.
Do I have to buy food/drink at the bar? / Am I allowed to bring in outside food/drink?
The bar is there as a fun bonus, but you are never obligated to buy something there. You are welcome to bring in outside snacks and drinks. In fact, I would encourage bringing a snack for yourself especially if we plan a longer session!
more questions?
ask me all about it!
how do i book with you for a custom project?
i love doing custom tattoos and bringing your ideas to life! here’s how we’ll get started:
Send me an e-mail at BAMBIPRIKT@gmail.com with the following info:
1. A short description of your idea. Please include any details you find important for the design.
2. The size you want the tattoo
3. Placement on the body
Feel free to also send me pictures to illustrate what you’re going for. Please also mention if there’s other tattoos already in the area you want tattooed.
After that I’ll ask you some follow-up questions if I find this necessary.
I saw this tattoo/flash design by another artist, can you do this exact tattoo on me?
I don’t copy other people’s designs (and neither should anyone else). We can take the original idea and make you something unique. It will be in my style, though, so not an exact copy of what that artist is doing.
I saw this tattoo/flash design by another you, but I live too far away to visit you. Can I let my tattoo artist do this design on me?
While I obviously have no power over whether you actually go through with this, and I appreciate that you are at least polite enough to ask, please don’t.
I saw flash design I want but I want XYZ changed.
I tend to handle these requests on a case by case basis. Generally when I have a flash piece up I would love to tattoo it as is, but sometimes small changes can be made. We can also use a flash design as a jumping off point for a custom piece just for you.
I saw flash design I want but you already tattooed it on someone else. Can I get it as well?
Unless otherwise specified, I don’t repeat my designs after tattooing them. I’m happy to take any flash design I’ve previously tattooed and making you a new version of it though.
Can I bring in my own design to get it tattooed?
Yes and no. :)
Some drawings and illustrations will be more easy to turn into something tattooable than others.
We can always take a look together at what the options are and I’ll inform you of what needs to be done to turn your design into a tattoo that will last.
If you’re bringing in a design by someone else I will need express written consent from the original artist (especially so if they are a small creator). Some artists have tattoo-tickets which you can buy, but if they don’t I always suggest at least buying them a coffee or something.
Some drawings are not suitable to be turned into a tattoo for a variety of reasons. If this is the case, we can work out what you like about the original design and use it as inspiration for your own custom design.
Designs & creative process
When will I see my custom design?
For larger projects (day session or more) we can book in a consultation where we go over a rough sketch of your idea. We can also take this time to see how the design flows on your body.
For projects of less than a day session you see the design on the day. I don’t book in a lot of appointments on the same day so we can take time to look at the design and small changes can be made if they make sense.
What if I don’t like my custom design?
For large projects (day session or more) we can first book a (free) consultation where you can look at the rough sketch of your design. This is the moment to speak up if you don’t like something and the design needs to be redrawn structurally. If you arrive on the day of your session and you don’t like a detail in the design, we can adjust your design together to your satisfaction.
For smaller projects, if you show up to your appointment and you don’t like your design, we can first sit and talk about what you would like to change. I don’t book in a lot of appointments on the same day so we can take time to look at the design and small changes can be made if they make sense.
If there’s a structural problem with the drawing we will change the appointment into a consultation and book a new appointment for placement. (If I need to reschedule you because of missing information in your briefing, a new deposit will be asked when rescheduling.)
You are always free to walk away at any point in the process.
DISCLAIMER: I draw custom designs in my own style. Make sure you like the way it looks as a tattoo by looking through my portfolio before booking with me. If you want (or don’t want) specific elements in your design, please communicate your wants as clearly as possible.
The more vague you are, the more design decisions I will be making. This is perfectly alright for me, I’m happy to take the lead on designing your tattoo and I appreciate creative freedom. I actually think this leads to the best results. HOWEVER, if you do want something very specific please mention this clearly during booking or consultation.
